Tired of the crowded Bangkok City?

Let's hang out with the local Thai fishermen instead!

Experience the fisherman community just about an hour+ from central Bangkok! We will take you to a non-tourist local fisherman village. See the gulf of Thailand and the lives along the coast.

This Fisherman village is called "Bangkrajao". It is located in a bit of hidden area where only the locals know. Bangkrajao fisherman community is located on the coast of Gulf of Thailand where there is the mixing area of sea water and fresh water. Lives of the people here are mainly dependent on local fishing and seafood processing. Here's how our day will go:

Cockles-searching with local fishermen

You can take the local long tail boat to the gulf of Thailand, try searching for cockles like the local Thai fishermen using the wooden board which will help you to kick and slide yourself on the muddy coast. If you are lucky, you can catch the horseshoe crap too. (But don't eat it) haha...and if you are even luckier, you can have a chance to see the pink dolphins that swim around the gulf!

Delicious seafood lunch with locals

After a hard day, enjoy the local sea food, freshly caught by you or by local fishermen. The best specialty here is the crab. Eat at a famous and well known one-table restaurant with steamed, fried crab with local sauce and as well enjoy other seafood. After the stomach is filled, take a stroll along the village. See how the locals make the shrimp paste and explore how they live.

Bang Koong Temple, Amphawa Floating Market, and Fireflies!

In the late afternoon, visit Bang Koong Temple, the old temple covered with a Banyan tree for many hundred years. Later visit Amphawa floating market and enjoy the scenery of the old charming market with the chance of taking the boat to see fireflies in the evening.

Get out of busy Bangkok and meet real Thai locals! This is a once in a lifetime experience which can give you a deeper understanding of life in rural Thailand.

Nontharos “Nan” Kiatwisanchai founded Thailand Secret Tour in 2013. She is a native Thai, who has been exploring the world outside her homeland for many years. Her favorite part in traveling is to search for secret hidden places and soon to be forgotten neighborhoods. She noticed that nowadays travelers like to search for places where they can experience the authentic local lifestyles and everyday life activities and interact with the local people more than just visiting the tourist attraction sights and then fly back to home. She thinks that not only Thailand Secret Tour gives a new perspective to traveling, but it also promotes and preserves the old and rich cultures in the small communities, the authentic atmosphere of the places and the local ways of living.
